September 22nd 2013

Dear All,
Greetings from New York City! What an amazing three days in this modern day Rome!

At the New York City Women’s Day, Elena
proclaims “freedom for the oppressed”
and the insecure!

On Friday morning, Elena & I met up with Andrew & Patrique Smellie – the New York City Church Leaders, the overseeing Ministry Couple for the Northeastern USA, and the future Overseeing Ministry Couple for Africa! The four of us spent the day together discussing and praying about all three of their God-given charges!

THE CHALLENGE OF EVANGELIZING AFRICA:
An accurate comparison of Africa relative
to some major countries!

Friday night, I addressed the House Church Leader Brothers – “Andrew’s Mighty Men!” Then on Saturday morning, Elena preached at the New York City Women’s Day!

Andrew’s Mighty Men!

On Sunday, we shared in a “worship service for the ages!” Highlighting the service was the singing by Sue, Ariel, Erica and Darra of the “Kingdom version” of Alicia Keys’ Empire State of Mind and three awesome baptisms! Our Lord has used Andrew & Patrique to build an amazing congregation for His glory!

“Home” for the NYC Church – the Seventh Day
Adventist Church Building on the
Lower Eastside of Manhattan!

The NYC International Christian Church!

Upon our return to Los Angeles late Sunday night, I was informed that this week the Lord poured out His blessings on the City of Angels Church with 16 baptisms – the most that we have ever had in one week! And to God be the glory!

And now more reports from around Los Angeles…

Kyle Bartholomew: Greetings from the Central Region! Today we saw three incredible young souls added to God’s Kingdom through the waters of baptism! First, we baptized Enrique who is a student at ELAC and has a dream to one day study at UNAM in Mexico City to become a doctor! After studying the Bible, Enrique was overjoyed to learn that as a disciple he can also be a doctor for those who are sick spiritually!

Secondly, we saw Michael, who made the decision a week and a half ago after his first Bible study, to apply the same effort to his Bible studies as his school work as he is a 4.0 student! Staying true to his word, he studied every day until he got right with God! Lastly, Yvette an incredible teenager – whose parents Nelson & Dina are both disciples – decided that she was done fighting against God and is now determined to fight for God. Please pray for us as many more are on the way!

The Central Region’s spiritual triplets – Michael,
Yvette and Enrique!

Luke Speckman: Greetings from beautiful Ventura!! God has done“immeasurably more than all we could ask or imagine!” This week, we witnessed Michael, Cassandra, Monique and Jacob saved through the waters of baptism!

It all began earlier this month when I met a young man at Ventura College named Michael and set up a Bible study. However, he didn’t show up to the study even though he confirmed the day before! He also changed his phone number! A week later, the brothers and I went to study The Cross with Bobby (who was baptized two weeks ago), and Bobby invited his friend to his Bible study! This friend “just happened” to be the same Michael who I met at Ventura College!! Immediately upon walking in, Michael realized he was busted and God was calling him!

Bobby hung out with disciples and did Bible studies every day for 12 consecutive days, and in spite of his challenging and troubled past, he was baptized into Christ on Wednesday! During his studies, Michael invited his ex-girlfriend Kassandra to church. She studied the Bible every day and was also baptized on Wednesday!

Our awesome intern Jennifer Habib met Monique at Ventura College last Thursday. Monique studied every day, sometimes twice a day and on Wednesday she too was baptized!

The Ventura Region’s triplets – Michael, Kassie,
Monique – baptized Wednesday!

Monique, invited her friend Jacob to her first Sunday service with us last week. Jacob began Bible studies with the brothers that day, and everyday thereafter attended every event he could (including Leaders Meeting, Campus Devo, First Principles, & three Bible Talks!) and today he was baptized into Christ!

Jacob (third from right) rejoices with the Ventura
Brothers who studied with him!

Tyler Sears: “Do you not say, ‘Four months more and then the harvest?’ I tell you, open your eyes and look at the fields! They are ripe for harvest.'” (John 4:35) Greetings from the West Region! Today was certainly special as we saw Sun baptized into Christ!

Sun is a young man from South Korea and came to UCLA to study Business. Instead, the Spirit showed Sun that he needs “to get about God’s business” as he eagerly studied the Bible once he saw his need to become a disciple. Sun’s story is amazing because he was met by our dear brother, Alton Liu, before he moved to Chicago. Alton is an excellent example of a disciple who did not wait “four more monthsuntil he moved, but took the challenge to be personally fruitful before he left – praying he would replace himself. And that’s exactly what the Lord did!

Celebrating a very “SUNny” day in the West
Region is our new brother and Jung –
two future Korean Evangelists!

Cesar Limon: Greetings of love from the Inland Empire! God blessed us with three additions today and a powerful service as we were able to worship God with new sound equipment for which our awesome disciples went tagging! Argo preached an inspiring lesson entitled On Our Way To Heaven that challenged all the visitors and encouraged the whole church “to keep our eyes on the prize!”

It was incredible to witness Serran, an RCC student, begin his journey to Heaven, as he overcame so much to be baptized today! Serran has always wanted to help others get right with God but he shared that he never had a church to bring them to… until now! We also were blessed to “welcome back” the Welch Family to the Inland Empire with warm words, an encouraging song and Starbucks Gift Cards because during the previous time that they lived here they had such an incredible impact on many of the IE disciples! Let’s keep our eyes on the prize!!

Serran joins the ever-increasing number of IE
Brothers who weekly issue the challenge,
“You will be next!”

Chris Adams of the OC Region: 1 Timothy 4:12 says, “Do not let anyone look down on you because you are young, but set an example for the believers in speech, in life, in love, in faith and in purity.” Today, Russ Preston, the OC Shepherd of the Teen Ministry, taught us that the Greek word for young” actually came from the time that young men left the comfort and safety of their homes to go off to war… at the ripe, old age of 12!

We are so proud of our “young” brothers and sisters in the Teen Ministry who have been busy “NOT LETTING” us look down on them, since two of the four baptisms today were teens – Emmanuel and Victoria! That means that over the past three weeks, five teens have been added to the OC Teen Ministry!

Victoria and Emmanuel are lovingly surrounded
by the awesome OC Teen Ministry!

Inspired by our young zealots, we in the Marrieds Ministry are fired up that God gave us two amazing souls to bring into the Kingdom of Light: Rosey and Daisy! Rosey (who re-named himself “Pops” after his good confession) is 71 years young and brought his family to tears when sharing his deep regret for hurting them by his sins of anger and selfishness. Pray for his wife Janine who is eagerly studying the Bible and wants to get baptized as well!

“Pops” is 71 years young!

Then Daisy, mother of Brian Clavel who was baptized several weeks ago in the OC, made Jesus Lord after overcoming years of pain and bitterness from difficulties in her family. Though grateful her son was getting so much support from his new friends, she expressed at his baptism how skeptical she was that this change in her son was real. Today, however, Daisy was beaming with gratitude as she thanked her son Brian for persevering and showing her that God really could change anyone’s life, including her own!

Victor Gonzalez Sr.: Greeting from the MIGHTY EAST REGION!!! Today has been an incredibly amazing day!! On this day, 18 years ago, my wife & I were baptized into Christ! I feel honored to have been able to watch the amazing miracles that God has done in my life over the past 18 years! Before becoming a disciple, my wife & I were on the verge of getting a divorce, but through God’s grace, discipling from God’s leaders, and repentance, I have never been more in love with my wife than I am right now!

Victor & Sonia at their renewal of vows for
their 25th Wedding Anniversary!

Today, we received the best spiritual birthday presents as God totally blew out our Bring Your Neighbor Day and two more souls were added to our Campus Ministry – Pamela, a girl from “Laos,” and Darrell!! Both were met by our amazing, and recently married, unpaid Intern – Gabe Reed!

Moments before her baptism, Pamela cheerfully
anticipates becoming God’s daughter!

One of the greatest joys my wife & I have had in serving in the English Ministry has been watching Gabe and his new wife Stephanie, grow in their conviction, love and leadership. They are pillars here in the East Region and went straight to work right off their honeymoon! I have no doubt that this young married couple will become an Evangelist and Women’s Ministry Leader in God’s Kingdom! Lastly, this marks the 37th straight week where every single disciple in the East Region has given their pledge for contribution!!! My wife & I feel honored to lead such an incredible group of disciples!!

HEADLINE NEWS – USA

NEWS FLASH – Andrew Smellie: “For we know, brothers and sisters loved by God, that He has chosen you, because our gospel came to you not simply with words, but also with power, with the Holy Spirit and deep conviction.” (1 Thessalonians 1:4-5) Greetings from New York City! What an incredible weekend of inspiration and growth in “deep conviction” for the Lord as we had the privilege to host “our spiritual mentors in the faith,” Dr. Kip & Elena McKean!

Elena with the Smellies on the
streets of Manhattan!

After Kip’s powerful Devotional Lesson for the House Church Leader Men on Friday evening on Deep Convictions, the brothers went up to the sky-deck of our Midtown Manhattan location and stood in awe of the eight million souls that God has given us to evangelize! (The eight million are in the borough of Manhattan, so this doesn’t include the other 12 million in the other four boroughs of New York City!)

On Saturday morning, there was a small army of brothers to support the women of the church as they celebrated their 2013 Women’s Day,entitled, Secure In Heart! With a powerful AMS Dance Presentation and acapella singing in addition to stirring testimonials of overcoming insecurities in the areas of appearance, finances and even abuse, 60 disciples saw 134 women in attendance – including my awesome sister Alison! Elena McKean was the dynamic keynote speaker, and encouraged the women that only “Jesus is the cure for the insecure!”

With great affection, Patrique introduces her
mom in the faith, Elena who spoke on the
theme “Secure in Heart!”

On Sunday morning, God blessed the faith of the NYC Sisters as two women who had come to the Women’s Day were baptized! Kayla Aimable, a professional dancer at ELSCO Dance Company, and Belinda Turner, a Certified Registered Nurse Practitioner for the University of Pennsylvania Health System!

Kayla (second on the left) is dearly beloved
by all the NYC Sisters!

Also baptized on Women’s Day Weekend was
the very gracious nurse – Belinda
Turner! (second on the left)

NEWS FLASH – Eileen Mengis of Dallas-Ft. Worth: “Then the master told his servant, ‘Go out to the roads and country lanes and make them come in, so that my house will be full.'” (Luke 14:23) Hey y’all from the DFW Church! God is continuing to fill His house here in Texas as Chantelle Anderson was added to the Kingdom in Houston this week! Her younger sister, Kristin Smith, is a disciple in the Phoenix Church and their youngest sister, Amber, was just baptized two weeks in the San Diego Church! It is truly amazing to see God’s power in unifying families through a unified movement!

Chantelle is a tremendous woman that has accomplished many noble things throughout her life such as playing in the WNBA, creating groups and websites to help and inspire young women, coaching college basketball, and motivational speaking! Yet, while doing all this, Chantelle still felt “something missing” to fulfill God’s purpose for her life.

She then gave up her coaching career and moved to Houston where in time we were able to open the Scriptures and teach her what it meant to truly “count the cost,” “be baptized for the forgiveness of [her] sins,” and live life in the Spirit. On Tuesday night, just one day after returning from the Denver Inaugural Service, we took the four hour drive from Dallas to Houston to baptize Chantelle and celebrate her new life in Christ! Her conversion has deepened my convictions that it truly “takes a village” to win souls, as disciples around the country helped Chantelle to reach the decision to make Jesus her Lord!

Only through a unified movement could three
sisters in three cities – Chantelle in Houston,
Kristin in Phoenix, and Amber
in San Diego – be saved!

Continuing the week, we were thrilled to have Tyler & Shay Sears visit us from Thursday to Saturday from the West Region of Los Angeles! The Sears have been an enormous help to Tim Power and myself in overseeing the work here in Texas through much training and support. We all gathered for some family time on Friday night to watch The Patriot and one of the main themes from the movie that inspired many of us was the encouragement to “stay the course” even in our weakest, most trying moments.

Saturday morning, we gathered at the Ramirezs’ home for an amazing home-cooked brunch, and Tyler preached an incredible lesson specifically on this topic! It was so great to have the disciples up from Houston and from San Antonio as we continue to grow in unity despite the distance between us. Everyone left physically and spiritually full and inspired about the work God has done and will continue to do as we “stay the course” here in Texas!

Closing out the weekend was our church service this morning! We had our first SMU student visiting with us today! Tim preached a very stirring and vulnerable lesson! Hearts were moved and softened throughout this whole week! Please pray for all three of the Texas Churches as we continue to go through the “country lanes” of Dallas-Ft. Worth, Houston and San Antonio to bring in more and more to fill God’s house! And to Him be all the glory!

Tim Power is spearheading the
SMU Campus Ministry!

NEWS FLASH – Jeremiah Clark: Greeting from the Mighty Denver Church! “When the Lord brought back the captives to Zion, we were like Men [and Women] who dreamed.” (Psalm 126:1) God is certainly a God of dreams! Last week, we had a phenomenal Inaugural Service as little did we know when we moved to Colorado 11 weeks ago that God would bless in spite of floods and devastation with 171 in attendance!

Today, Mike Sanicola preached powerfully and from the heart about how God has a dream, a plan and a purpose for each and every person! To think that just seven months ago, Mike believed that God had given up on him and that He would never use Mike in the fulltime ministry again! Nevertheless, God still had great vision for the Sanicola Family. To see Mike so passionately “preach the Word,” as well as to see Dena Sanicola so radiant and push through the hurts and pains of the past and to once again embrace the ministry is inspiring! God also blessed us all to see their two boys Michael and Giovanni recently baptized into Christ!

The inspirational new fulltime ministry
couple – Mike & Dena Sanicola!

With all of this, I am reminded that God always has a dream! Inspiringly, the Lord also added to our number today as Brian & Patricia Maki placed membership marking 10 additions in the last 11 weeks! Brian & Patricia shared how the lukewarmness, mediocrity and the lack of discipling relationships drove them to walk away from our former fellowship and pursue trying to find the spirit of love and unity in other churches. Brian shared today that as they wandered through the spiritual desert, they realized that their hopes of being part of a vibrant, sold-out and unified movement with the plan to evangelize the world was only going to happen if the SoldOut Movement planted a church in Denver!

The Clarks are so encouraged by Brian & Patricia
joining God’s new movement!

God heard their prayers and the prayers of so many more as He has truly planted a dynamic discipling ministry in the Mile High City! We are so thankful to be “partners in the gospel” with all of you as we DREAM BIG for the evangelization of this great city and for the world!

Courtney Parlour of Syracuse: “Arise, shine, for your light has come, and the glory of the Lord rises upon you. See, darkness covers the earth and thick darkness is over the peoples, but the Lord rises upon you and His glory appears over you. Nations will come to your light, and kings to the brightness of your dawn.”(Isaiah 60:1-3) Nations are drawn to the light as we continually have visitors out to our worship service from many different countries! Today, Joel preached a sizzling message about salt and light: WITHOUT TASTE IN A DARK PLACE! He reminded us of our need to be and to bring the flavor of God and the light of Jesus throughout Central New York State. So, despite the heavy persecution from the Dean of the Chapel at Syracuse University, we have several SU students that, God-willing, will be baptized very soon! Please pray for our boldness!

Camille Santiago of Las Vegas: Greetings from Saint City! What an amazing week for the Lord! The disciples worked wholeheartedly for our first Bring Your Neighbor Day this past Sunday! The Lord blessed us with having more than “one-for-one visitors” at service! This Sunday’s lesson was entitled, Back To The Bible. Jason preached about the days of King Josiah when the Bible was literally lost in the temple and paralleled that to our day. The impact of his lesson was enormous as 47 studies are set-up for this week!

Another moving moment of our service was the baptism of a teen, Cheyenne Stasher! Proverbs 22:6 advises parents, “Start children off on the way they should go, and even when they are old they will not turn from it.” Surely, Cheyenne has been carrying the lessons and examples from her parents in her heart as she made Jesus Lord of her life today! It was amazing to see the Stashers baptize their second daughter since our arrival here! Please, continue to “keep praying for the saints” in this great, though dark, city! (Ephesians 6:20) As always, to God be all the glory!

The incredible Stasher Family!

Jacob Beas of Eugene: Greetings from Tracktown USA! What an amazing week we’ve had here in Eugene! In preparation for the coming school year, our Campus Ministry known as SOUL went away to Central Oregon for an inspiring retreat entitled, WITHOUT LIMITS!Hearts were moved, unity was forged, and memories were made and most importantly we witnessed a miracle as God added to our number through baptism – Jennifer, the sister of our newest brother Tyler!

The Eugene Campus Ministry Retreat was highlighted
at the very end with Jennifer’s baptism!

Also on another note, it’s been incredible to see what God has been doing through Rich & Stephanie Hackett and their newly founded non-profit organization Sea MERCY. Sea MERCY has a dream and plan to operate free floating health care clinics for the remote islands in the South Pacific. They started their first run this summer and just this past week, the Hacketts and Sea MERCY received local recognition from the news station and a front page article in the newspaper! We are super proud of them and grateful to have such an amazing couple!

Rich & Stephanie are the Founders of Sea MERCY!

Evan Bartholomew: “But thanks be to God, who always leads us in triumphal procession in Christ and through us spreads everywhere the fragrance of the knowledge of Him.” (2 Corinthians 2:14) Greetings from your brothers and sisters in San Diego! It has been another triumphant week for us as we’ve been working so hard to spread the fragrance of the knowledge of Christ all over our city! The people here must be “catching a wif” of what’s going on, because the 40 disciples of the Mission Bay Church had 100 people at today’sBring Your Neighbor Day Service – the highest attendance we’ve ever had!

Also very encouraging was the baptism of Anthony, as every baptism is a participation in the triumph of Christ on the cross! (Colossians 2:15) I was particularly proud of Anthony because he comes from a very challenging past including sins of drugs, homosexuality and smoking cigarettes. He was so broken by the Scriptures, and so determined to break free from the sins that had held him in bondage for so long, that he fasted for seven days from everything except for water! He truly is a prime example of what many find extremely difficult to believe, “Anyone can change!” Thank you for all of your prayers! We are truly blessed to“always” be led in triumphal procession through Christ!

Through the cross and his San Diego Brothers,
Anthony triumphs over his past!

Mike Underhill of San Francisco: “The Kingdom of Heaven is like treasure hidden in a field. When a man found it, he hid it again, and then in his JOY went and sold all he had and bought that field.” (Matthew 13:44) The San Francisco Church rejoiced this week as an amazing single, Seble, was added to God’s Kingdom!

After hearing a hardline lesson at our Friday Night Campus Devotional a week ago about commitment, Seble shared that she was ready to sell“all [she] had” to enter God’s Kingdom! By the end of the weekend, Seble, convicted by the Scriptures and filled with JOY, moved out of her boyfriend’s apartment, broke up with her boyfriend of six years, and handed in her resignation letter to her job that wouldn’t give her Sundays off! She studied every day at 11PM after work until Thursday when she was ready to be baptized! Today at church, she was so excited to have found the “treasure” that she shared, “I feel like I’m at the first day of school!”

Seble finds “the treasure of the Kingdom” in
the hearts of the San Fran Sisters!

Ron Harding of Washington DC: Greetings from the Capital of the United States of America! “The first thing Andrew did was to find his brother Simon and tell him, ‘We have found the Messiah (that is, the Christ).’ And he brought him to Jesus.” (John 1:41-42) In the last seven weeks, the Lord is continuing to bless the work of the disciples in DC giving us 15 additions – 9 Baptisms, 3 Restorations and 3 Place Memberships!

We are especially inspired by the Campus Ministry, courageously led by Steve & Kithy Ranga! Just two weeks ago, Dao was baptized through the efforts of our Howard Campus Ministry. “The first thing [Dao] did was to” go find her best friend Shyloe and share her faith, saying “I have found the Messiah!” It was so moving to see after the baptism the dynamic of these two young women who were so close in the world, yet are now bonded by the blood of Christ for eternity!

So many in the DC Church came to Shyloe’s
amazing baptism!

Also, our new Deaf Ministry had “a whole slew of visitors,” including another translator who shared with me her excitement to study the Bible with us!

The DC Church is the first in the SoldOut Movement
to officially begin a Deaf Ministry!

Jay Hernandez of Hilo: Aloha from the Big Island of Hawaii! The Waterdogz have struck once again! Whitney Smith was baptized on Coconut Island, the playground of Royalty here in Hilo. Whitney is the daughter of Burton & Denise and the younger sister of Maurice, all of whom were baptized earlier this year! She is now the third teen in our growing Teen Ministry! With many tears she expressed gratitude for God that he would bring her here from Michigan so that she could find Him. Four down and one to go in their family!

Already this year, four of the remarkable Smith
Family have been baptized!

Coltin Rohn of Boston: Many would say that it is “Mission Impossible” for 12 guys to evangelize the world in their generation! However, the Apostles “got the job done” in just 32 years! (Colossians 1:6, 23) Now, Jesus has given us the same “Great Commission” and we are here to tell the world it is “Mission Possible!”

Today, we saw a different kind of “Mission Possible” as Peter Markarian & Jenelle Piche started dating! Peter & Jenelle gave up their relationship in order to become disciples of Jesus. However this weekend, God gave it back to them, as now they have their relationship founded on the Word of God and Jesus Christ as their “chief cornerstone!” Another “Mission Possible” is that we are now an official club at Mass Maritime! Thanks to the efforts of all the disciples there and of course their fearless leader Mike Belmore who is planning to graduate this year!

One year ago (September 23, 2012), the Boston International Christian Church was officially started! With a mission team of 16 disciples (along with 24 visiting disciples from sister churches) we had 108 in attendance at our Inaugural Service! Today, God has allowed our number to grow to 45 sold-out disciples! Please pray for us as we prepare to celebrate our First Anniversary Service on September 29th at 10AM at 41 Trinity Place, Boston 02116!

The Boston International Christian Church dreams
that one day they will hold their Sunday
Services in the new Boston Garden!

Matt Sullivan of Orlando: “All this is for your benefit, so that the grace that is reaching more and more people may cause thanksgiving to overflow to the glory of God.” (2 Corinthians 4:15) Today was awesome! God blessed us with our second highest attendance ever of 156!

The spectacular Orlando Church had
156 in attendance!

Amazingly, Lobis and Jedediah were in the hotel restaurant working on the “new media team plans” and they met 12 women who were in Orlando from South Florida from another church group! Jedediah, a former denominational preacher himself, was humming a “Kingdom song” as he ordered coffee and the women heard him. This started a conversation about why “the 12” were in Orlando and then Lobis continued and they both invited them all out to our service. All 12 of the women came and were so impressed with the fellowship, communion and sermon they want to keep in touch!

“The 12” all live about 20 minutes from where we were last week in South Florida reaching out to the remnant! In addition, we had visiting from South Florida four awesome remnant disciples who came to “see and hear” about the grace of God in His new movement! They were greatly encouraged and we are now very close to a new remnant group forming in Florida! They would immediately have 12 women to reach out to!

Maria Franklin: “You are the light of the world.” (Matthew 5:14) What an amazing week we have had in Chicago! Service today was electric as our inspiring Evangelist, Jay Shelbrack, preached a phenomenal lesson entitled Blessed Are The Peacemakers! This week, Chicago once again made national news with a gang related mass shooting as 13 people, including a 3 year old boy, were gunned down. It was also announced that the Federal Bureau of Investigation granted Chicago with the sobering title of the Homicide Capital of America, taking the title from New York City last year.

With that information, Jay challenged us by calling us to make a difference in this city by: Making Peace With God, Peace With Others, Peace For Others, and Peace With Self. Excitingly, Jay encouraged the church to sign-up for a 24/7 prayer chain, where every member in the church would be involved throughout the week specifically praying for peace in this city!

Through this, we were thrilled to see two souls make peace with our God! First, Lyndsei was baptized through the efforts of the Downtown Sisters! Lyndsei was reached out to by Ashley Hartgrove (who was baptized one month ago), as they worked together!

Lyndsei is warmly embraced by her
new Chicago Sisters!

Then, during Bible Talk Leaders Meeting, Alex was baptized! He stirred our hearts as he was so overwhelmed with joy and emotion at sharing his gratitude for God and his new found family. Alex is majoring in Civil Engineering and is a midfielder for the Soccer Team at the Illinois Institute of Technology.

Alex becomes the 200th member of the
dynamic Chicago Church!

Finally, we have been truly humbled this past week as we have reached a numeric milestone! God has graciously brought the Chicago Church to over 200 members! We love you all and please keep us and the city of Chicago in your prayers!

Lou Jack Martinez of Honolulu: IT WAS A “DOUBLE-TAP” BAD DAY FOR THE DEVIL HERE IN OAHU AS WE CLOSED OUT OUR “CHARIOT RIDE” WEEK WITH TWO (2) AWESOME BAPTISMS!BRIANNA COOK is an amazing young woman who was seeking God in Honolulu since she arrived here THREE YEARS AGO!!! A while back, she was met by our sister Jane Chesmore. However, they lost touch and lost each other’s contact information! But Brianna was DETERMINED to “find that church [she] was invited to before!” even though she couldn’t even remember the name of the church or Jane’s name!!!

The charismatic preacher of the impressive
Honolulu Church – Lou Jack Martinez!

All she could remember was that the church was located near the parking lot for UH Athletics! So she drove to UH Athletics and parked there on Sunday morning, praying and looking for the disciples, but we happened to be meeting in the Physical Science Building (our new home) that weekend, so Brianna missed us!

Undeterred, Brianna drove out to check one more place where we might be, AND SHE SAW THE HONOLULU ICC SIGNS designed by Rob Onekea!!! This led her to the Physical Science Building Parking Lot where she saw one of our well-dressed ushers who directed her into the service!!!

Brianna came to church, and surprisingly met some disciples from her home town of Yucca Valley, California – namely, Scott & Terra Utter! So, Brianna studied the Bible weeping during the Seeking God Study! Then, she went to our very first Chariot Ride last Friday evening, and got BAPTIZED INTO CHRIST at Magic Island that very night!!!

Please be praying for the Honolulu and Hilo Churches as we prepare for an UNPRECEDENTED HARVEST IN THE ISLANDS!!!

HEADLINE NEWS – INTERNATIONAL

NEWS FLASH – Blaise Feumba of London and Alexis Turgeau of Port-au-Prince: “Day after day, in the temple courts and from house to house, they never stopped teaching and proclaiming the good news that Jesus is the Messiah.” (Acts 5:42) The Haitian Disciples this week have been working hard to put the First Principlesinto practice by studying the Bible with many and moving them closer to the waters of baptism!

The PORT-AU-PRINCE International Christian Church with seven disciples had 25 in attendance this Sunday! Alexis started eight studies this week and Jean-Louis LOUSBERT, one of the first seven preachers baptized two weeks ago and our new song leader, now has 18 studies alone! Pierre MICHELET, also among “the Seven,” reached out to his wife MYRIAM who is now moving forward in the studies to be baptized next Saturday with possibly two more people!

Alexis & Maryse Turgeau not only lead the
Port-au-Prince Church, but oversee the
SoldOut Movement’s other
three Haitian Churches!

The CHANTAL International Christian Church led by the very dear and esteemed Latour RELES, the 71 years old preacher who was one of “the Seven,” and his fellow partner and son-in-law Joel GERMAIN are now studying the First Principles with 19 people who are not far from the waters of baptism. They had 45 in attendance this Sunday!

Joel & Jeanine work side-by-side with Jeanine’s
father Latour in leading the Chantal Church!

Saint-Jeance FRESNEL and SUZETTE his wife, the lead couple of the MONTROUIS International Christian Church, are studying the Bible with 16 people and God blessed them today with 65 at their Sunday Service!

Lastly, the CAMP-PERRIN International Christian Church let by Jean-Joseph DAUDIER had 21 in attendance today! Jean-Joseph is doing theFirst Principles with five people! In total our Four Haitian Churches with just 17 disciples studied this week with 66 different lost souls and had 156 in attendance! Please keep all of them in your prayers for the abundant harvest ahead! To Our Mighty God be All the glory!

Raul Moreno: “Give thanks to the Lord, for He is good; His love endures forever.” (Psalm 106:1) Greetings from São Paulo! This Sunday, we celebrated our International Sunday with a whole array of foods from different countries and opening prayers in Mandarin, Italian, English, Spanish and of course Portuguese! God gave us an attendance of 127!

It was great to see the Lord add to His number by having Daine baptized who happens to be a single mother. As she was saying her “good confession,” she specifically confessed her sins to the whole congregation and everyone was moved with gratitude to see how good the Lord is in granting us repentance, mercy and a chance to live a new life!

The Lord has really blessed the São Paulo Church as we started 2013 with just 33 disciples. And as of now, the church has 68 disciples more than doubling in nine months! God is good indeed! We love you with the love of the Lord!

Lesya Kovalchuk of Moscow: Today, 22nd of September was a very happy morning for us as Max, a 19 year old college student, became our brother through baptism! This young man was invited more than a year ago in the Spring by our brother Dmitry. Max was glad to study the Bible but his way to the saving waters was long as he had to go through many life challenges: the death of his grandma who raised him up as his mother died when he was four, as well as difficulties in relationships with other close members of his family. So he wandered in darkness for some time.

However, Max always remembered the love of the disciples and their sincere desire to help. So he came back to church this Spring again and by the grace of God repented and started living as a disciple. Our Father blessed him with an apartment through a government program, and Max serves the Lord with it as two young disciples live with him! He inspires everyone with the changes in his life and character, especially in his boldness as he is not a naturally outward person!

Decked out in his new MERCY shirt, Max enjoys
the true friendship of the Moscow
Brothers and Sisters!

Also today at Sunday service, we were very encouraged by our brother Tim Butakov, the leader of the Novosibirsk Church who flew 3,000 kilometers (1,800 miles) to be with us! He was touched by the warm welcome of the Moscow disciples and we were very inspired by his sermon! We are so looking forward to the McKeans and Sirotkins visiting in November after the European Missions Conference! Please continue to pray for Moscow as we dream to bear much eternal fruit!

Literally, Tim traveled all the way from Siberia
to encourage the Moscow Church!

Michael Williamson: Greetings from London! We are only 44 days away from the European Missions Conference and the Spirit is moving powerfully. We are encouraging all delegates attending from Los Angeles, New York, India, Stockholm, Madrid, Kiev, Paris, Amsterdam and Santiago to please register this week at www.londonchurch.org.uk!

The good Lord blessed the church with another great miracle this week! After much prayer and preparation into my Staff Meeting lesson, it was clear that the Holy Spirit wanted the church to focus on one thing – BAPTIZING! So the title of the lesson at Staff was simply BAPTIZE! The Campus led the way by gaining 300 new contacts and 70 who expressed interest in studying the Bible at the University of East London’s “FRESHERS FAIR!”

Then shockingly on Wednesday, I received an urgent phone call from a man with a very direct question: “I’m calling to find out if your church baptizes? As I’ve been googling churches in London, it seems to me from your website that you guys baptize!” I quickly responded, “Yes.. Yes.. We are all about baptizing!” “Great I need to be baptized!” “Well… Tsungai that sounds great but do you know the message one must believe before they are baptized?” Tsungai all but said, “How can I unless someone explains it to me?” Now Tsungai isn’t the Ethiopian Eunuch but he’s definitely got the heart!

From that moment Tsungai committed to coming to everything and studying daily! Today he was baptized!

So thankful to God that he found the
truth, Tsungai weeps for joy!

Lastly, please listen to the sermon that Blaise Feumba preached upon his return from Haiti. Whenever you look around the fellowship and see 15-20 people in tears the Spirit is working powerfully! Our brother Blaise’s report about his trip to Haiti amidst the risk of catching cholera and living in sub-poverty conditions for eleven days, was contrasted with the joy of our new Haitian brothers and sisters – full of gratefulness to God and to His movement for their new-found salvation! Blaise’s sermon forced me and every disciple in the room to ask themselves, “AM I REALLY SOLD-OUT?”

Blaise Feumba – Overseeing Evangelist of French-speaking Africa: “Suppose one of you has a hundred sheep and loses one of them. Doesn’t he leave the ninety-nine in the open country and go after the lost sheep until he finds it?” (Luke 15:4) Our dear brother Amadou really shows a heart to gather the Remnant. Last week, he drove over five hours from Abidjan to the Ivory Coast’s western city of Biankouma to rescue a couple from Satan and his lies! Not only did Amadou help our brother Bamba Idriss & his wife, but he also organized a Bible Talk in the city led by Bamba! This Sunday a Remnant Group was officially started with 12 in attendance led by the Idrisses!

Having become partners in the gospel, Amadou

Biankouma Remnant Group!

The Lord also blessed the church in Abidjan who held house churches in three different locations with 215 in attendance!

Philippe Scheidecker: Bonjour de Paris! “All they asked was that we should continue to remember the poor, the very thing I had been eager to do all along.” (Galatians 2:10) After the call of Nick Bordieri at the GLC to keep the poor and needy in our hearts, we decided to have more frequent MERCY activities… Saturday, we planned with Sandra, our “Lead Mercy Ambassador,” to have a blood donation followed by sharing some food with homeless people. I am proud of Sandra, Omarr, Heidi and Bernard who were able to pass the strict French regulations to give their blood!

Please pray for us as we will start to give our “spiritual blood” during the next two weeks for our evangelization campaign for a special church service October 6th entitled, A La Vitesse De La Lumière (At The Speed Of Light)! We believe that people can change and become disciple at the speed of God’s light!

Carlos Mejia: Greetings from Santiago de Chile! God is moving powerfully in our North Region led by Job & Erin Sterling as they continue to baptize and grow their ministry! After the devastating earthquake in Haiti in 2010, many Haitians have moved to Santiago to seek refuge. They have formed a community in Quilicura, and God has put Job Sterling there as he is Haitian! Job has also raised up another Haitian brother Ruvens who has 7-10 visitors every week at his Bible Talk!

We were so excited as we witnessed a young Haitian native named Jackenson be baptized this week! Jackenson has been eagerly seeking God since the brothers started to study the Bible with him, and he has been super evangelistic, calling friends in the United States and in Haiti telling them “the good news about the Kingdom of God!” All of us were moved by his tearful conversion, especially his brother who is also studying the Bible! Please continue to pray for us down here in the Southern Hemisphere!

Jackenson is “robed in white” for his baptism!

Alexandra Higgins of Caracas: Greetings from Venezuela! I am still in awe of my family’s time in Chile just a month ago where my husband & I were restored and our son and daughter were baptized!

Since our return home, we officially formed the Caracas Remnant Group! God is bringing to us so many incredible hearts! We are so excited to share with you that today Raul Ramos was baptized by Gerson Junior! Raul has a heart for God and has been trying to guide a group of young people in the Catholic Church. However, he was shocked by studying the Bible! He now dreams to change all of Venezuela for the Lord! I’m especially proud of my son Junior as he still has so much fire from Chile which I see in his “son in the faith” Raul and his three other studies!

Raul is the first baptism of the new
Caracas Remnant Group!

In Venezuela, we have planned for this week eight Bible studies! Pray much for us! The people God is bringing to us have been searching for God a very long time in different ways! We feel the hand of God working mightily in Venezuela through His new movement!

Gerson Sr. (right) is about to start the service
for the Caracas Church!

Victor Gonzalez Jr.: Greetings from the plentiful harvest field of Mexico City! This last week has been historic! The Lord opened the doors to Libreria Visión, a historic house located in downtown Mexico City. This now-library was once the home of one of Mexico’s well renowned ex-presidents, Antonio Lopez de Santa Anna. (pronounced “Santana”) General Santa Anna was president 11 times throughout his political career and is known for a few things. First, on November 12, 1853, President Antonio López de Santa Anna announced a competition to write a national anthem for Mexico. Thus the “Mexican National Anthem” (Spanish: Himno Nacional Mexicano), also known as “Mexicans, At The Cry of War” (Mexicanos, Al Grito de Guerra), is the national anthem of the United Mexican States.

Secondly, he is known for the selling of California and parts of Texas and Arizona to the United States. God has opened the doors as we will be meeting here in his prior home on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday nights, as well as for our Sunday Worship Service! Today, we celebrated with joy the baptism of Araceli, the mother of Aurora Luna, who is in the LA Church! Please pray for the harvest in “El DF”! See you next week!

URGENT PRAYER – Tim Kernan: Greetings from Chennai, India! This has been an incredible week for the mighty Chennai Church as our new House Church Leaders conducted their first House Church Services! The House Churches gathered together in homes all over Chennai to worship God and by all reports everyone had a phenomenal time! Over the past seven weeks, we have had nine amazing additions – eight by baptism and one by restoration! All this despite the beginning of the monsoon season where this week alone heavy rains and flooding completely disrupted the city!

The streets of Chennai after the recent rains!

Chennai city proper was founded by the British colonialists as a military fortress in South India. It was designed to accommodate approximately 300,000 people maximum. However today there are over 10,000,000 in Chennai with 69,160 people living per square mile! Unimaginable to the Western mind, there are over 1,200 slums in Chennai! So desperately overstretched is the city’s infrastructure that is common for sewage to overflow into neighborhoods with even a “short rainfall” leaving large puddles of deadly water on the streets. However, the worst is that as the temperature heats up in the afternoon, these puddles begin to evaporate into steam and a toxic cloud forms in the air which is very hard to avoid.

The result has been widespread illness and in fact one very sad side effect is that the children in Chennai, but also in similar areas of India, are severely stunted in height because their bodies are so busy fighting infections that they cannot grow. There is such an incredible need forMERCYworldwide in this broken world!

The canal that is very close to the Kernans’ home!

Sadly, this week among our beloved disciples we have had many cases of illness including typhoid, malaria and bacterial infections. In fact, my own lovely wife is in a hospital bed not far from me as I write this from the emergency room. She has just tested positive with Dengue Fever. Though not as severe, Junior has also had a fever for a couple days but is responding to medicine at home. All of Raja & Debs lovely children have also had severe fevers and illness this week. Both ministry families are under Satanic attack so please pray for Lianne and all the precious children in the church! (Job 2:4-8)

All that being said despite the rain and sickness, the gospel is being preached; lives are being changed; and many are close to baptism because the “Spiritual Tigers” of the Chennai Church don’t know how to quit! There is no jungle too deep, no mountain too high, and no beach out of reach for committed disciples of Jesus! Join our 14 Bible Talks in praying and fasting for our Invitation Service this coming Sunday!

Roger and Johnny – “Spiritual Tigers” in the
formidable Chennai Campus Ministry!

Dear Brothers and Sisters, As you have now read, our precious missionary families of the Kernans and Rajans are paying an enormous price for the evangelization of India. Likewise, Blaise Feumba in Haiti was confronted with similar challenges. Perhaps it is very necessary – even in the Good News Email – for all of us to be sobered by the trials of going into foreign lands with the need to overcome such barriers as language, culture, sanitation, disease, homesickness and even hostile persecution to the point of death.

Pray for all of us to be “strong and courageous” in answering the thundering voice from the throne of Heaven asking, “Whom shall I send? And who will go for us?” Pray that each of us will answer like Isaiah, “Here am I send me!” (Isaiah 6:8-9) And may the peace of Christ guard your hearts throughout your life… in whichever one of the 195 nations of the world that God sends you!
Much love,
Kip
