Prayer Goals of 2013

Prayer Goals of 2013

God has consistently called his people to the Mountains! Noah to Mt Ararat (after the flood), Moses to Mt Sinai (Ex 19), Elijah to Mt Carmel (1Ki 18), David to Mt Zion (2 Sam 5), and Jesus to the Mt of Transfiguration (Mk 9). Daniel prophesied that God would establish His kingdom with a mountain (Da 2)! We believe God is calling you us to the Mountain (to build His Kingdom)! With this year’s theme – Called to the Mountain, the Boston International Christian Church Leadership has set before the Lord the following prayer goals for 2013:

1. Hire more full time staff to multiply Bible Talks

1 Timothy 2:3-4 “This is good, and pleases God our Savior, who wants all men to be saved and to come to a knowledge of the truth”

God never changes! It’s God’s will that every person would come to a knowledge of the truth and so be saved”.The knowledge of the truth comes from Disciples of Jesus, by them preaching the message, people then can be saved by God. This means we need more disciples in more cities! The Boston International Christian Church is dedicated not only to making disciples, but also to raising disciples up to be mature” in the Lord and then send them out on mission teams (Hebrews 5:11-6:3). That is why for 2013 we have a prayer goal of seeing more people on staff to be able to preach the gospel full time without having to work a secular job.  It is our goal to add 4 interns to the Boston International Christian Church’s Staff before the end of the year. Lord willing we will begin to see this dream fulfilled in March as we will be adding 2 more interns to the BICC staff.

As more people are growing in the Lord, partly because of those who will be able to serve full time in teaching and administering the word, our prayer is to see each of our Bible Talks grow and multiply from 4 Bible Talk’s to 9!

2.Raise Contribution and Special Missions!

2 Corinthians 8:1-3

“And now, brothers, we want you to know about the grace that God has given the Macedonian churches. Out of the most severe trial, their overflowing joy and their extreme poverty welled up in rich generosity. For I testify that they gave as much as they were able, and even beyond their ability. Entirely on their own”

God has blessed us so incredible in the area of finances as such a young church! With a group of 16 “missionaries” (those who gave up homes, jobs, comfort and moved for the gospel) the Boston ICC started on September 23rd 2012. Since that time the Lord has added 18 souls and counting! We had a tenacious goal of raising over $6,375 dollars for Special Missions, the disciples blew it out by giving over $8,740 dollars! We currently are giving on average 50$ per member per week! As I believe and teach, each member should give a minimum of a tithe (10%of their income) (Malachi 3:6-12). However in the New Testament a tithe is no longer the minimum, but everything” is the standard (Luke 14:33). I believe in order for us to grow numerically and geographically we need to continue to grow in our giving. It is our prayer goal that we will be able to give, even beyond our ability” each week in order to meet the needs of the church.  Lord willing we will achieve this goal by having the campus, singles and marrieds raise their contribution by 5$, 10$, and 20$ respectively by June 16th.

Romans 15:26

“For Macedonia and Achaia were pleased to make a contribution for the poor among the saints in Jerusalem.”

Special Missions comes around only twice a year! In April a 15x’s and in November a 5x’s is collected. Each year we will be willing to make contributions to new church plantings by giving money called “Special Missions”. Our goal’s for this year’s Special is to raise over $24,465 dollars in April and over $12,500 dollars in November. By the grace of God this will help the Boston Church become self-sustaining as well enable us to make a Contribution” to the 2013 church plantings!

3.Build a Great Multitude!

Revelation 7:9

After this I looked and there before me was a great multitude that no one could count, from every nation, tribe, people and language, standing before the throne and in front of the Lamb. They were wearing white robes and were holding palm branches in their hands.”

In order for they’re to be great multitudes of people in the Kingdom of Heaven, there needs to be great multitudes of people in the Kingdom on earth! This would mean a lot of people would be visiting on Sundays as they study the Bible and make decisions to get Restored, Baptized, or Place Membership. That is why it is our prayer goal that we will have an average attendance on Sundays of over 100 people this year.

In order to reach every tribe and language” we will be having “Bring your Neighbor” days, “Workers Appreciation” days (where we recognize through out the year the top 100 careers people have in the 21st century) as well as a Men’s Forum (March 16th), and Women’s Day (September 14th)! By faith we will have an attendance of 120 at our Men’s forum and Women’s Day!

It is also our prayer that we will not only have an English-speaking ministry, but we will begin to offer a Spanish-speaking ministry to our Latin friends and family members! Currently we are translating each service into Spanish for our Latin members, however, Lord-willing we will be able to have Spanish Services!

Some have considered those who are artists, athletes, or those who work in media as another Tribe” of people. That is why we are honored to have Sal DiFusco, who is a professor at the prestigious Berklee College of Music, to lead the efforts in bringing the gospel to this group of people.

Prayerfully we will have a new ministry added to the BICC called the AMS (Arts, Media, & Sports).  This ministry would not only focus at reaching out to AMS people but also allow those who are in the fellowship to be able to use their talents in the Kingdom of God (Matthew 25:14-30)!

4.Take Care of the Poor & Needy!

Proverbs 28:27 “He who gives to the poor will lack nothing, but he who closes his eyes to them receives many curses.” As of December 2012, Mercedes Bonilla has been recognized as the MERCY Worldwide Ambassador for the Boston ICC (the benevolent arm of the International Christian Church’s). However, we know every disciple of Jesus has a heart to take care of the poor, Mercedes will be able to schedule projects that the church will undertake in order to meet the needs of the poor in our local community. We currently will be having a Day of MERCY June 15th and another incredible Toy drive December 15th! Lord willing we will be able to add to these efforts two more Days of MERCY!

2013 is a year of dreaming for the Lord. As we are a new church, we believe God has called us to the Mountain and to build Him a Great Church! Our plans have been made in the hope that we will fulfill Gods Dreams. But let us remember Proverbs 16:3 “Commit to the Lord whatever you do, and your plans will succeed.”  Let us commit all of these plans to our God and see his handwork powerfully in our lives and the lives of our friends and families and those who are yet

to be known!

Love,
